BFSA Year End Report

This is the annual end of year report to the President of the University of Alabama. The Black Faculty and Staff Association acts as the professional organization for African American employees on the campus, providing support for the mission of the University. The main activities of the Association are those involving student support services, student scholarship and fund raising, staff and faculty support, and providing a forum for the interests of African Americans as this pertains to the campus environment. The BFSA meets once a month throughout the year, with a regular attendance of around 30 members, out of a population of more than 200 faculty and staff African American who regularly assist with events. The BFSA depends on the office of the President for financial and logistical support for certain events, including the Freshman Welcome Reception, the Welcome Reception for new Black faculty and Staff in September of each year and the Black Scholars Honors Day Celebration the first Sunday of Honors week at the end of the school year.
