BFSA Black Scholars Program

MISSION

The mission of the Black Scholars Program is to provide an opportunity for African American and multicultural students who have excelled academically, to develop, prepare and gain entry into the University of Alabama Honors College and other leadership programs at UA. We envision this program to be supplemental, using a pipeline strategy to increase the number of African American Students into these academic and leadership programs.

IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION WE PROPOSE:

The Advisory Board will be responsible for selection of 20-25 incoming freshmen and sophomores with a 3.3 GPA to participate in a 2015 Fall semester program for their preparation to apply to the University of Alabama Honors College Program or other leadership development programs in the 2016 Spring Semester.

Five forums/lectures will focus on networking skills, career development, leadership development skills, and how to navigate successfully through the University.
